Guitars for Charity Strumming Up Support for Council

Osceola County, FL: When Charlie Eggers chooses your charity, you know you’ve been blessed. Eggers, owner of Sunrise Pest Services, Inc. has raised more than $700,000 for charities such as Kentucky’s Camp Courage to Osceola’s own Camp Boggy Creek. After fifteen years, ‘Guitar Charlie’ as he is fondly referred to has no intention of stopping his giving ways through his organization known as Guitars for Charity.

“I’ve seen first hand the work of the Council on Aging, that is why I’m helping them raise money,” Eggers stated. “But what I didn’t realize is that their services such as the health clinic and food commodities program are for all generations, not just the elderly. This is truly an organization that provides a safety net for the entire community. I’m very proud to be working with them,” he continued.

Joining forces with country western legends such as Willie Nelson, Eggers donates guitars signed by country western performers, and donates them to charities for auctions or raffles to raise money for their organization’s mission. The guitar donated by Charlie to the Osceola Council on Aging was signed by country western singer Cowboy Troy and singer and rodeo champion Pepper Fipps, rated in the top five in the United States in bronco riding.

The Council on Aging is raffling off the guitar and the drawing will take place on August 12 as the Council hosts the Kissimmee/Osceola Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours. Tickets for the raffle are available at the Veal Center for $1 per ticket or 6 for $5. The winner does not have to be present. Proceeds from the benefit will support the Council’s efforts to meet the social service needs of the Osceola Community.

“The Council is a local organization and the money they receive helps families that live right here and that is so important in these difficult times,” Eggers concluded.
